Personality: Valvatorez is a proud, noble demon. He puts much importance on keeping his promises, and will go to great lengths to do so. He used to be one of the most powerful demons in the Netherworld, but lost most of his power due to keeping his promise to a woman he met in the human world. He refused to drink her blood, or any human blood, for that matter, until he was able to instill fear into her. He never got the chance to do so. Long after her death, he still adheres to the promise he made . He instills this strong belief into keeping promises on others too, promising others they will feel the "full weight of their promise" if they do not keep them.
Despite being very, extremely serious about promises. Valvatorez is kind of a dork. He absolutely obsesses over sardines, believing them to be nothing short of a miracle cure, and will at times go into great lengths to share his knowledge of sardines during the "Next Episode" segments. He also focuses on minor details, like bursting into the Netherworld Information Bureau not only to dispel the lies about Emizel's death, but to also notify them about a typo in one of their articles. He also resorts to almost 4th wall breaking game logic, believing that any important event or detail they are looking for will be revealed in a dramatic fight with a boss character. He believes that one is able to fight off any number of diseases by having a strong spirit and fortitude. He can be rather gullible at times, often falling into the schemes of his right-hand man without even realizing it.
His belief in a strong spirit and fortitude shows an intense determination. Even if the outlook is bleak, he will constantly encourage his teammates to never give up. When he sets his eyes on a goal, he will stop at nothing to get it, fair and square. He refuses to attempt assassinations on Corrupternment officials and the Netherworld President simply because it is sneaky, underhanded, and dishonest. He is willing to put blood, sweat, tears, and sardines into anything, from his job as a Prinny Instructor to saving the world from a oblivion. As long as it doesn't go against his word, he won't give up until the very end. He absolutely abhors cowardice and hates those that manipulate others to achieve their goals.
Despite being a demon and a tyrant, Valvatorez has an incredibly kind heart. He is humble, never shirking his duties as a Prinny Instructor even in the midst of his coup of the Corrupternment. Though he recognizes his own power, he never lets it go to his head, recognizing the strengths of all his comrades, realizing that they are where they are not because of his strength alone, but the strength of his comrades and the bonds of friendship they have. He is never one to turn away someone in help and dispense advice, even if it is to an enemy. He often shows great compassion, often going out of his way to help others in need. Even when he reaches the top and becomes President of the Netherworld, he is quick to give up the title to someone who really wants it, mainly because he had no need for it, and that it got in the way of a much larger, much more important goal to him.
Abilities: Val's your typical Disgaea main character. A high-level, powerful demon with heavy focus on melee attacks. His favorite weapon is a sword, although he is rather proficient with a spear as well. He can and control any number of bats, which can be used to make his cape expand at will. He is also capable of limited flight.
